The River Forth
This is another modest gallery - I`ll add more images when time permits including additional Bass Rock shots as well as the Isle of May and Inchcolm Island. Meantime, check out my Stock Photography Archive for more shots of Forth and the surrounding area.
MV Windsor Castle has been bought by The Royal Yacht Britannia and is currently being converted into a 25 bedroom floating luxury hotel. The Clyde-built vessel will be berthed permanently, next to Britannia, in Edinburgh’s historic port. Launched in August 1963, Windsor Castle was the last ship built by Glasgow`s Blythswood Shipbuilding Company and previously served as the Northern Lighthouse Board’s (NLB) tender Fingal. Although Leith was registered as her home port, she spent most of her NLB service, 30 years, working out of Oban followed by another 6 working years based in Stromness, Orkney. The vessel was sold by the NLB in 2000 to Tamahine Shipping who kept her berthed on the River Fal in Cornwall. Following an 18 month-long conversion, Windsor Castle is scheduled to be available for paying customers by Spring 2016.
