Bulk Carriers 2010
With hundreds of bulk carrier shots taken over the years, here are just a couple of those massive vessels that visited the Clyde in 2010, the most recent first...
Anemona, classed as a Wood Chips Carrier, was only just built in 2010, by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding of Fukuyama, Japan. She`s pictured here making her way up the Clyde on 28 November on what must`ve been one of her first voyages.
Sunday 24 October 2010: Discharging coal at the Hunterston Ore Terminal on a crystal clear morning is Panamanian-flagged bulk carrier Leo Felicty (IMO 9409091) (Gross Tonnage 92,246 tons / DWT 178,564 tons). She is a brand new vessel having been built earlier in the year by Mitsui Ichihara Engineering & Shipbuilding, Ichihara, Japan, and is owned and managed by a Japanese company.
On 5 October 2010, another wood chips carrier Daio Creacion sailed past Erskine en route to Shieldhall. With a gross tonnage of over 40,000 tons and a length exceeding 200 metres she turned a few heads as she made her way upriver. A product of Imabari Shipbuilding`s Marugame yard in Japan, she was built in 1998 and is owned and managed by a Japanese company although she is registered in Panama.
