Stob Coire nam Beith (1107m)
Winter 1983/1984
Classic winter conditions with the mountains well-plastered with snow. Great day out with half-a-dozen workmates, We went up via the Lost Valley in brilliant sunshine. A bright yellow RAF Wessex helicopter overflew, possibly on a training sortie, or there may have been a call-out elsewhere in the glen. Just as we were about to move off from the the summit, we noticed a climber making his way up the steep face directly below. He topped-out, relieved to have made it as the snow was much softer than he`d anticipated. Apart from Bidean`s main summit we took in two subsidiaries, namely Stob Coire nan Lochain and Stob Coire nam Beith.
