This is a brief round-up of aircraft movements at Glasgow International between 1-31 December 2015. There was no chance of a White Christmas this year with seemingly endless wet and windy weather throughout the month. Scotland`s Central belt didn`t fair anywhere near as badly as other parts of the British Isles with major flooding and disruption making this one of the wettest UK Decembers on record. On several occasions exceptionally high tides combined with the saturated ground to create the illusion that Glasgow International was situated on the coast! Unsurprisingly, this was a fairly quiet period at the airport and, with other things on the go to keep me occupied on the run up to, and during, the Festive Season I didn`t manage to photograph many of the arrivals.
Noteworthy visitors this month not captured on camera were C-GTQY Boeing 737-8Q8W Air Transat and Polish-registered Saab 340A SP-MRB of Sky Taxi (2nd); Icelandair 757 TF-FIC, en route from Keflavik to Frankfurt, landed around 1000hrs having declared a medical emergency.
