Walks (Blank)
*(Include thumbnail with link for each walk page)*
This is the second in what will hopefully be a series of suggested walks illustrating what Erskine, Inchinnan and Bishopton have to offer for anyone seeking some local outdoor action, irrespective of their age, interests and physical ability. This page has been compiled and hosted on www.clydesideimages.co.uk specifically for the EBI Community Website. Please note that all images belong to the Photographer Brian Moyes unless otherwise stated and all are subject to copyright. They have been embedded with a digital watermark.
The Renfrewshire communities of Erskine, Inchinnan and Bishopton lie within superb countryside which creates endless opportunities for a diverse range of outdoor activities. Seasonal transformations can often be dramatic, especially after a heavy fall of snow, which admittedly is becoming rarer these days, or if you venture onto the nearby hills above a sea of mist, only to find clear blue skies above. Whether your interests lie in local history, wildlife or watching the ships sailing up and down the river, all can be combined with enjoying our outdoor spaces. An added advantage is that with the Erskine Bridge within easy reach of all three communities, they also make ideal starting points for exploring the north side of the Clyde, whether on foot or by bike.
Steve Moyes of © 2020 aviation has kindly supplied a number of images for use in this feature including this spectacular view of the ?* Local photographer John McSporran has also contributed by providing the ebi.scot header image. Check out their respective websites via the foregoing links to see more of their superb photography. (to edit)*
A Walk (Description) ...
A fabulous way to get a bit of exercise whatever the time of year is to take a stroll along Erskine`s Riverside Walkway between the Newshot Island Local Nature Reserve and the Boden Boo Community Woodland. The walk can easily be extended to explore the wider area which has a wealth of natural, scenic and historical points of interest.
The area covered here is described as etc // but it is of course, just as enjoyable if tackled in the opposite direction. // Rather than walk this route in its entirety, many people are content to settle on enjoying a short stroll, covering just a small section The route is very easy to access and for anyone driving here there are - car parking info // There is also plenty of on-street parking available. Links with other walking routes etc*
